ROBBER’S Path

The Robber’s Path in Rothenbuch is a picturesque 13-km circular trail that combines history, nature, and an authentic Spessart atmosphere. The starting point is the lively Maria-Stern-Platz in Rothenbuch. Steep sections alternate with tranquil meadow paths along the Robber’s Path.

The highlight of the tour is the boardwalk through the Hafenlohr Valley, one of the most beautiful Spessart valleys with a unique cultural and natural landscape.

Panorama Trail

The Rothenbuch Panorama Trail is an impressive 15 km circular hiking route, largely following natural paths across fields and along the forest edge. This hike can be commenced from Restaurant & Hotel Spechtshaardt. A total elevation gain of 320 meters will challenge your legs, but the breathtaking views will reward every step.

Should you prefer not to complete the entire route in one go, you may return to the village center at various points via unmarked field paths.

Mill Path

The Mill Path in Rothenbuch is a beautiful 3 km circular hiking trail in the Spessart, which runs along the historic community mill. Information boards along the path provide insights into the mill’s history.

  • Distance: 3 km

The Mill Path can be extended to an 8.9 km circular route that leads along the Hafenlohr. The trail is marked with “R3” and is a moderately difficult tour with a walking time of approximately 2.5 hours.

Hasenstabweg

The Hasenstabweg is a challenging 68 km circular hiking trail in the High Spessart, leading through the villages of Rothenbuch, Weibersbrunn, Dammbach, Wildensee, Schollbrunn, and Lichtenau. The route is a journey through the history of the Spessart and follows in the footsteps of the notorious poacher Johann Adam Hasenstab, who was born in Rothenbuch.

The trail alternates between gravel forest roads and narrow, partly natural forest paths.
